On June 3 2024, Fulbright Teaching Assistant (2023-2025) Ms. Catherine Johnson led an engaging workshop focused on integrating speeches into English classrooms through three dynamic approaches: rhetorical analysis and analytical writing, public speaking, and media literacy. She shared an array of valuable resources, including speech examples, video clips, and question-driven templates to help teachers guide students effectively.
The workshop also covered innovative ways to use social media videos and films to teach students how to identify misinformation and build critical thinking skills. Teachers participated enthusiastically, engaging in discussions, asking questions, and exchanging their own experiences and projects—creating a truly collaborative and inspiring event.
